Before the villas, before the deed, there's this: a plot of land in Bareyo that looks a little more like what it's going to be every week. Here we're going to tell it straight, no filters, how Bareyo Residences gets built from scratch — and this is the first real progress update, with photos from these past few days.

We've been getting photos of the plot almost every week. First it was just disturbed earth and piping waiting its turn. Now there are pavements, now there's an asphalted road, now there are freshly laid kerbs — and we can't stop looking at them. We're excited even about the part nobody usually gets excited about.

In this first photo you can still see more construction site than finished result: coiled piping, manholes waiting for their place, disturbed earth. But in the background you can already see the landscape Bareyo Residences will have — the green hills of Trasmiera, without a single crane in sight. It's the photo we've looked at the most these past few weeks.

There's already a road

A few weeks ago this was a dirt track. Now there's finished asphalt, with the curve already laid out toward what will be the entrance to the development. It's one of the things that's most exciting to watch progress, even if it's just a road.

The first pavements

The first stretch of pavement is already laid, kerb included. It's a small detail, but it's the first one that turns a plot of land into a place you can actually walk through. With the mountains of Cantabria behind it, it's hard not to stop for a photo every time we pass by.

The entrance curve

This is probably our favourite image of them all: the curve that will one day lead to the door of Bareyo Camino and Bareyo Monte. There's still a ton of things to decide, but for the first time the land has taken the shape of a place, not just a plot.

What's next

Before the month is out, we'll close the final purchase of the land. There's no turning back after that — it's the first real yes, after months of numbers, plans and conversations. Everything that comes after — the architect, the blueprints, the foundations — starts counting from that day.
